Simonne Reynolds (Spooner) | FACP

Director/Specialist Sports Physiotherapist

Simonne is our practice principal at SpoonerSpecialist Physiotherapy.  She knew she wanted to be a Sports Physio at the age of 14, and in her Year 12 Leaving Book stated her goal was to be the Wallabies Physio. Her dream has come true working with rugby union her entire career.  She is currently the Head Physiotherapist for Eastwood Rugby Union and was the physio for the Australian Women’s Rugby Union Team for 6 years, including the2008 Seven’s World Champions.

Having completed her exams in May 2013, Simonne graduated from the Australian College of Physiotherapists as a Specialist Sports Physio, one of only 46 in Australia.

TARA VANCE

SENIOR Physiotherapist

Having written in her Year 4 dossier that she wanted to be a Physiotherapist, Tara went on to study Physiotherapy at SydneyUniversity after completing her schooling at Tara Anglican School for Girls.She was an elite runner throughout high school and was constantly at the physio, which is where her love for the profession developed. Tara lives within5 minutes of the practice and has grown up in the area which has led her to gain some great local knowledge. Tara has worked with Eastwood Rugby with Simonne over the last two years and loves the sports coverage side of the job.She also been the team physio for the NSW Womens 7s team for the last two years. If Tara wasn’t so involved in rugby physiotherapy, she would love to be the physio for the Australian Cricket Team.  

Oliver Docker

Physiotherapist

Born and bred on the Northern Beaches of Sydney and having been educated at St Ignatius College, Riverview, Olly completed hisMasters of Physiotherapy Degree at Sydney University.  His passion for physio was born from a love of helping people, as well as having his own professional Muay Thai career shortened by a neck and shoulder injury in 2012.With a degree in Sports Science and a Strength and Conditioning background Olly has a particular interest in sports related injuries, and will be the physiotherapist for Hunters Hill Rugby in 2019.

RECEPTIONIST

With her father a legend of Eastwood Rugby, Meg practically grew up at TG Millner Field. Having known Simonne all her life, Meg joined our reception team in 2019.  She graduated from Mt St Benedict’s College in 2018, and will begin her Bachelor ofHuman Science Degree (Majoring in Human Movement) and has a dream of studying the Doctor of Physiotherapy at its completion. She will be joining Simonne, Tara and Em on the sidelines of Eastwood Rugby this season.

EM CRAIG

RECEPTIONIST

Em lives on the sunny Central Coast with her husband Ed Craig who plays first grade for Eastwood.  Em met Simonne observing one of Ed’s appointments in 2017, and then completed a university placement with Simonne and Tara at Eastwood, where Simonne was so impressed she offered her a job, both as a receptionist and physio assistant with Eastwood.   We are thrilled that Em will be studying physio at Newcastle this year, and pursuing her passion of becoming a sports physiotherapist.

Samantha Assaf

RECEPTIONIST

Sam is one of the newest members of our team –discovering SSP through her sister, Rebecca who is a physiotherapist and studied with Tara at Sydney University. Having always being interested in diet related aspect of health from a young age, she is currently completing a bachelor of science majoring in nutrition and metabolism. Her passion is to help people create a healthy lifestyle through nutritious but enjoyable meals.We look forward to Sam cooking heathy lunches for us soon! Sam enjoys travelling and doing Sydney’s coastal walks in her free time, with Greece and the Hermitage Foreshore walk in Vaucluse being her favourite locations!
